Music for Monday

Lead Me to the Cross by Brooke Fraser

It has been a very full February. Moments of great joy and great sorrow all wrapped together. Reminders that life is not what you plan--instead, it is the places where you need to be. The phrase of this song that stands out to me is where the singer says, "Lead me to your heart". The cross is the place of my redemption. It is the place that allows me to be close to the heart of God.

Verse 1:
Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom

Bridge:
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Chorus:
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross

Verse 2:
You were as I
Tempted and trialed, human
Your word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen

Bridge:
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Chorus:
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart

Chorus:
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me, lead me

Chorus:
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me, lead me to the cross
